The Timbers got off to another quick start in their second match of the season against DC United. It was the 18th minute when Dairon Asprilla knocked in the first goal of the match to give the Timbers a 1-0 lead.

Later in the first match it was a big save by the keeper Crepeau to keep the score at 1-0 heading into the second half.

The second half was just like the first half. A quick goal in the 61st minute. It may have been lucky, but the Timbers will take it. As Santiago Moreno was in the right place at the right time and finished a goal early in the second half.

In the 71st minute there was a questionable call that led to a penalty kick for DC United. Mateusz Klich finished off the penalty kick scoring a goal, and the score was 2-1 Timbers heading into the final 20 minutes of the match.

Goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau of the Timbers made some unbelievable saves in the second half. The only reason the Timbers kept their 2-1 lead. But he couldn’t do it all night as DC United got their second goal. Kristian Fletcher was the scorer to tie the match late in the half.

The Timbers had their chances at the end of the match and in stoppage time. But it wasn’t meant to be. DC United completed the comeback to pick up the draw. The Timbers get a point and start the season off without a loss in the first two matches of the season.

The next match for the Timers will be their first road game as they travel to Yankee Stadium to play New York FC on Saturday March 9.
