This Is A Perfect Situation For DJ Uiagalelei

By STEVEN VAUGHAN | 750 The Game

The expectations for Oregon State football are at an all-time high.

They return the offensive Pac-12 freshman of the year in Damien Martinez. They won  ten games for only the third time in school history a season ago, but it could have been even better according to John Canzano.

“You go back to the Washington game. The Beavers had that game,” Canzano said on 750 The Game. “You swap out the quarterback (Ben Gulbranson) for DJ (and) I think Oregon State wins that game. Chance Nolan throws a pile of interceptions against USC and the Beavers lose 17-14 at home to USC. Give me DJ Uiagalelei in that game and Oregon State wins.”

Pac-12 is Loaded At QB, But Who is Best?

The Beavers needed an upgrade at quarterback, and DJ Uiagalelei could provide exactly that. The talented junior and former five-star recruit announced his decision to transfer from Clemson to Oregon State in December.

DJ’s dad, Dave Uiagalelei, joined Yogi Roth on the It Factory on the Pac-12 Network and said DJ only has to do a few things to be successful.

“This is the perfect scenario for DJ. All DJ has to do is to be DJ. Go out there. Listen to Coach Smith. Which is an amazing coach. I did my homework on him. What a great guy in the league and the quarterbacks he’s coached. I just thank Coach Smith for choosing my son.”

The man who goes by ‘Big Dave’ loves the situation for his son, DJ. The fans in Corvallis love the situation for DJ. John Canzano loves the situation for DJ. Is this the season we could be seeing the Oregon State Beavers in the Pac-12 Championship game down in Vegas?
