The Oregon Ducks’ Key To Happiness: Bo Nix.

By STEVEN VAUGHAN, 750 THE GAME

Last season, Bo Nix was in a competition for starting quarterback at the University of Oregon. At least for a while.

This season, there are no questions. Bo Nix is the leader of the Ducks.

Yogi Roth of the Pac-12 Network joined John Canzano on 750 The Game and said he looks for certain indicators when watching Nix play.

“He’s playing happy. He’s playing free. He’s playing with joy,” Roth said. “Here he is returning for another year with a new offensive coordinator. We all thought, that would have meant he immediately left when Kenny Dillingham left. But he didn’t. He’s having fun. He’s playing with joy.”

Roth loves that Nix is having fun because it can help him overcome some adversity he sees on the field.

“I see all these quarterbacks that put all this pressure on themselves. It’s real. These guys put so much on their shoulders that I love how Bo has a tool and Dan Lanning has added to that of how to do deal with it and not feel as if you have to carry it all.”

Bo Nix is poised to have a big season and is tied for 5th in the early Heisman Trophy odds at 14/1. If the Ducks are to accomplish some of the goals that they have, they are going to need Bo Nix to play happy and play well.
