The Aidan Chiles Hype Is Going National

By STEVEN VAUGHAN, 750 THE GAME

“I left thinking, ‘Hey, who’s the most talented player? That’s easy. It’s Aidan Chiles.”

That’s what John Canzano said Monday on 750 The Game, coming out of Oregon State’s spring showcase, where the Beavs quarterback competition just got a lot more interesting.

The hype is there for the 17-year-old Chiles. The freshman quarterback at Oregon State is creating a lot of buzz in Pac-12 circles with his dazzling runs and throws from Saturday. Now he is gaining the attention of national recruiting analysts.

On the Football Recruiting Podcast on 247 Sports, Andrew Ivins and Cooper Petagna had some high praise for Oregon State’s prized freshman.

“I think this is absolutely Oregon State’s quarterback of the future and I think he’s a future star of the Pac-12.,” they said.

Recruiting is both Ivins’ and Petagna’s specialty. 247 Sports has Chiles as the 12th ranked quarterback in the class. But you have to remember, Chiles is only 17 and enrolled at Oregon State early.

Had he stayed as part of the class of 2024? Ivins and Petagna said he’d be near the top of the list.

“If he were in the 2024 class — in terms of the quarterback arms — How many guys would you ranked ahead of him? Maybe one or two.”

Is Aidan Chiles going to get on the field this season and play? If this spring was any indication, the kid’s talents may be too good to ignore.
