Stanford topples Oregon in Pac-12 Tournament Championship game, 64-57
The top-seed Oregon Ducks fought tooth-and-nail with the Stanford Cardinal, but fell in the Pac-12 Tournament Championship game on Sunday night in Vegas, 64-57.
The Ducks trailed 41-34 with 2:40 left in the 3rd quarter, but ended the quarter on a 8-0 run to take a 42-41 lead into the final period. However the Cardinal won the final frame 23-15 to get the win.
Oregon led 51-48 with 5:39 left in regulation, but the Cardinal finished the game on a 16-6 run.
The Ducks were led in scoring by the 27 points of Sabrina Ionescu, who also had 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Ruthy Hebard also had 13 points and 5 rebounds.
The Ducks finish the season with an overall record of 29-4, 14-2 during conference play and a regular season conference title and Pac-12 Tournament runner-up finish. They learn of their seeding in the NCAA Tournament as an at-large bid team on Selection Monday, March 18th.
