Simons lights it up before injury, Blazers fall to Jazz in Summer League 97-93
Anfernee Simons put up 35 points Tuesday in Vegas, but it wasn’t enough for the Trail Blazers in a 97-93 loss to the Utah Jazz.
Portland falls to 1-2 at Summer League, and will face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night in their final play-in game before the tournament.
Simons scoring output was a Vegas Summer League high, but in the final minute he suffered a grade 1 right ankle sprain and left the court.
X-rays came back negative, but the team has already ruled Simons out for the remainder of summer league.
Simons big night was highlighted by his 6-for-7 shooting performance from the three-point line. Over the three games he played in Summer League, Simons shot an incredible 65 per cent from deep. He totaled 66 points on 56% shooting from the field as well, and got rave reviews from his teammates.

Ant for game

Though the summer ends abruptly for Ant, he has left Rip City with plenty to be excited about for the future. Expect him to make a big leap in his second year as the true backup to Damian Lillard at point guard.
