Shams: Scoot Henderson to Charlotte at No. 2 Gaining "Serious Momentum"

HERE IS WHAT TRAIL BLAZERS SHOULD DO AT THE DRAFT TONIGHT

Hours before Thursday’s NBA Draft, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports on Twitter that the Charlotte Hornets — long-thought to be leaning toward Brandon Miller with the second-overall pick — are now seriously considering Scoot Henderson.

The Trail Blazers hold the third overall pick directly following Charlotte.

“Sources: Scoot Henderson is gaining serious momentum at No. 2 with the Charlotte Hornets in tonight’s NBA draft,” read Charania’s twitter post, published at 9:13 a.m. Pacific Time, some eight hours before the draft starts. “Hornets have been torn over the last week between Henderson and Brandon Miller. Team has final meetings today to settle on decision.”

ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski said in multiple SportsCenter appearances as recently as Tuesday that the Hornets were heavily leaning toward Alabama wing Brandon Miller with their second overall selection.

The betting odds shifted dramatically as a result, with Miller at one point being a -600 favorite to be taken with the second pick. Thursday morning, his odds slimmed to -200 as the favorite at no. 2.

As of 9:22 a.m., Draftkings has listed Scoot Henderson as the -750 favorite to be the second overall pick. Miller is now +450.

UPDATE: 9:45 a.m.: Draftkings lists Scoot Henderson as a slightly lesser favorite, now -380 to go second overall. Miller is +215 to go No. 2.

UPDATE: 3:20 p.m.: Draftkings lists Brandon Miller once again as the favorite to be the second overall pick at -175, while Scoot Henderson is now +105.

UPDATE: 3:50 p.m.: Draftkings lists Miller as -160 favorite to be No. 2 pick, Henderson is +115.

UPDATE: 4:30 p.m.: Draftkings increases Miller’s odds to -350 to be the no. 2 overall pick. Henderson is +200. Henderson is -300 to be the no. 3 overall pick.
