Scoot Henderson Left Off Of NBA All Rookie Teams

By 750 THE GAME STAFF

Even though Scoot Henderson had a strong finish to his rookie season. The 20 year old did not make the All NBA rookie first or second team.

The 99 voters vote for their top five rookies, regardless of position, and then their next five rookies. If you get a first place vote you get two points and a second team vote you get one point. Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren were the only unanimous first team all rookies.

Henderson did receive one first team rookie vote but was only on 31 of the 99 second team ballots. Fellow Blazers rookie Duop Reath also received two second team votes.

Scoot had an up and down rookie year for the Trail Blazers. He missed nine early games with an injury, and only shot 37.3% from the field and averaging 12.8 points and 4.6 assists in the first half of the season.

In the second half of the season Henderson bumped those averages and percentages up to 40.4% shooting and averaging 16.4 points per game and 7 assists in his final 21 games. For the season Henderson averaged 14 ppg, 5.4 apg, and 3.1 rpg while shooting 38.5% from the field and 32.5% from three point range.

Reath who is a 27 year old rookie came out of nowhere to receiver a couple of all rookie team votes. Reath started out the season for the G League Rip City Remix. Then after he got the call up to the Blazers. Reath averaged 9.1 ppg and 3.7 rpg while shooting almost 36% from three point range. Proving to be a stretch five man.

Next up for the Trail Blazers is the NBA draft where the Blazers received the no. 7 and no. 14 picks. The NBA draft will be held on June 26-27th. Continue to head over to 750thegame.com for all of you Trail Blazers draft needs.
