Schefter: Andrew Luck Retiring, Press Conference Sunday

The opening night of the College Football season was interrupted on Saturday when Adam Schefter dropped his version of a Woj Bomb. Andrew Luck is retiring from the NFL.
Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.

As Schefter mentions in the tweet, a press conference will make it official on Sunday.
Luck is just 29 years old, but after dealing with multiple injuries, rehabbing those injuries and more, it’s hard to blame him for choosing retirement.
It’s been well documented that Indianapolis botched Luck’s shoulder injury in the past. This preseason, Luck dealt with a lower leg injury. The injury appeared to move around Luck’s leg, from his calf to his ankle.
The Colts do have a quarterback in the wings who can start, Jacoby Brissett.
