Sabrina Ionescu on Monday became just the second player to be unanimously named the AP Player of the Year. The first was UConn star Breanna Stewart.
“That’s pretty crazy. Someone I look up to and have a good relationship with,” Ionescu told the AP. “To be in that class with her is an honor.”
The Oregon senior is only the eighth player to earn three AP All-American honors three times, and the only college basketball player (man or woman) to accumulate 2,000 points, 1,000 assists and 1,000 rebounds.
