Reports: Kobe Bryant dies in helicopter crash in California
Per multiple reports, Kobe Bryant was among five dead in a helicopter crash Sunday morning in Calabasas, Calif.
He was 41 years old.
Update: 5:02pm: Per reports, a total of nine people are now confirmed to have died on the helicopter crash. It has since been learned that among them was John Altobelli, legendary JUCO baseball coach and father of former Oregon Ducks star J.J. Altobelli. John’s wife, Keri, and daughter Alyssa were also on board.
Update 1:02pm: Per reports, among those who were also on the helicopter was Kobe’s oldest daughter, Gianna. TMZ reports Gianna also died. She was 13 years old.
Sources: Kobe Bryant was on his way to a travel basketball game with his daughter Gianna when the helicopter crashed. Those aboard the helicopter also included another player and parent.
