The Oregonian’s James Crepea reports, citing a source, that Oregon Ducks athletic director Rob Mullens is a candidate for the open AD job at Texas A&M.

Mullens has been the Ducks AD since July of 2010, coming from University of Kentucky, and now could be returning to the SEC.

Crepea’s report says Mullens is “on the short list” of candidates for the Aggies position.  In his 9th year overall, Mullens is also in the third year of an 8-year contract that runs through June of 2024, per the report.  Mullens earns an annual salary of $717, 500 with deferred compensation.

Previous Texas A&M A.D. Scott Woodward left for the same position at LSU.

How big of a blow would it be to U of O if Mullens left for College Station?
