When fans agree to sign the waiver, they acknowledge that they would be willing to take the health risks that comes with being in a stadium during a global pandemic. The potential request by the NFL is not unusual, as even President Donald Trump’s campaign required that attendees sign a COVID-19 waiver at a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma back on June 20th.
