Damian Lillard is planning to have surgery in the near future to address a lingering abdominal injury, sources told ESPN. The procedure isn’t expected to be season-ending but that is to be determined.

Windhorst notes the surgery is not expected to be season-ending but an official timeline to return is still to be determined.
Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes followed up, saying Lillard will undergo surgery on Thursday and will be re-evaluated in 6-8 weeks.

Lillard has played in 29 of the Trail Blazers 40 games this season. He is averaging 24 points, 4.1 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 0.6 steals a game.
The Blazers (16-24) currently sit tenth in the Western Conference standings.
Portland visits the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night.
