Prediction: Oregon State Beavers Vs Purdue Boilermakers

Each week Steven Vaughan will predict the score of every Oregon State Beavers football game. This week the Beavers take on the Purdue Boilermakers from Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon. The Beavers are -4.5 on Saturday.

The Beavers looked bad in the second half of the Civil War last week against Oregon. Now the Beavers face another Big 10 team in Purdue. Purdue was picked last in the preseason Big 10 poll, and after the Boilermakers 66-7 loss to Notre Dame last week it makes sense. This is a good data point for the Beavers against another Big 10 team. If Oregon State can win this game, I think the Beavers can win all their home games. But I’m not predicting that. I believe that Purdue comes into Corvallis and wins outright. Purdue looks at this game as a very winnable game as they head into league play, and coming off the 59-point loss I expect the Boilermakers to be focused. I think Oregon State will be able to run the football as they always do. Purdue will be able to throw the football. Last week against the Ducks the Beavers defensive backs looked a little off. I think it could be a problem and Purdue will take advantage.
