Prediction: Oregon State Beavers @ No. 9 Oregon Ducks

Each week Steven Vaughan will predict the score of every Oregon State Beavers and Oregon Ducks football game. This week it’s the Civil War rivalry game. The game will be played at Reser Stadium, according to Las Vegas betting lines. The Oregon Ducks are -16.5.

I haven’t been good at my predictions for the Oregon schools. 1-1 in Oregon games. 0-2 in Oregon State games. But for some reason, I feel good about this one. I’ll be taking the Beavers +16.5 and hoping to get a +17. This is a perfect example of games being played on a sheet of paper with a power ranking and watching the games. If you watched the first two weeks of the Ducks you would know that they’re vulnerable. They have barely beaten Idaho and Boise State. While Oregon State has dominated Idaho State and San Diego State. The problem for the Ducks is on the offensive line. I can’t see them shoring up that problem quickly. The Ducks gave up four sacks to Boise State last week, and running back Ashton Jeanty ran for 192 yards and three touchdowns. That is exactly what Oregon State wants to do. Get after the quarterback and run the football. Unless Oregon has figured out their offensive line problem. I think this game is close. Oregon is more talented and will make plays, and Oregon State isn’t very explosive on offense. But the Beavers can slow the game down with the running game and Oregon State keeps this game close.
