Prediction: No. 8 Oregon Ducks @ UCLA Bruins
By STEVEN VAUGHAN, 750 THE GAME
Each week Steven Vaughan will predict the score of every Oregon Ducks game. This week the Ducks are in Los Angeles playing against the UCLA Bruins in Big 10 play. The Ducks are -25.5 against UCLA on Saturday.
It’s the same old late kick for the Oregon Ducks and UCLA Bruins even though they are now in the Big 10—an 8 p.m. kickoff from the Rose Bowl for the two teams. Oregon is coming off of a bye week and UCLA is coming off of a loss to LSU 34-17. After an embarrassing effort against Indiana, UCLA played very well against LSU. UCLA can’t protect their quarterback, Ethan Garbers. LSU had five sacks last week and I expect the Ducks to be able to do the same thing. The Bruins’ defense has been better this season than I thought, but Oregon seems to have figured out the offensive line problems that plagued them in the first two games. Oregon will be able to dominate on the defensive end all night long, and the offense will do enough to win and cover the huge point spread.
Oregon -25.5
Oregon 41, UCLA 14
