Portland Trail Blazers Reduce Number of Full-Time Workers

Due to COVID-19, the Portland Trail Blazers announced on Wednesday the reduction their full-time workforce.
Their official release states:
Due to the global pandemic, the Trail Blazers organization has been substantially impacted in our ability to host live events for the foreseeable future. As a result of these unprecedented circumstances, the organization has instituted a series of measures to prepare including a reduction in our full-time workforce. — Trail Blazers Organization
Portland laid off about 40 employees, according to The Oregonian’s Joe Freeman.
Fifteen percent of the workforce (about 40 employees) have been laid off in positions across the company and every person in a director role, including VPs and Presidents, have taken a pay cut.

Freeman also reports the moves “have been in the works for weeks” and are a due to the loss of live events like concerts and obviously NBA games.
