Portland State Spring Football Season Schedule Released

The Big Sky officially announced their Spring football schedule on Wednesday.

Portland State opens their season hosting Eastern Washington on Feb. 27. Then, the Vikings head to Flagstaff to face Northern Arizona on March 6.

Week 3 pits the Viks against the Idaho Vandals in Moscow on March 13. The first of two “open weeks” — for all teams — comes March 20 in case any games need rescheduling due to COVID-19.

After (hopefully) the week off, PSU hosts back-to-back home games against UC Davis (March 27) and Cal Poly (April 3).

Finally, the Vikings battle the Montana Grizzlies in Missoula on April 10.

If necessary, the second “open week” is set for April 17, again, in case any games need to be rescheduled due to COVID-19.

Also, only 12 of the 13 Big Sky teams will play in the Spring; Sacramento State announced in October they won’t play in the delayed season.

In case you forgot, the Big Sky teams still have a shot at the FCS playoffs. There will be 16 teams with 11 automatic qualifiers and five at-large berths.

The playoff bracket will be released on April 18 with the championship game coming on May 14, 15 or 16.
