Portland Holds On, Drops Phoenix 127-120
After back-to-back tough losses the Blazers held on for a 127-120 win over the Phoenix Suns. It was a close 1st quarter has Portland only had a 24-23 lead over the lowly Suns, but they used a 42-24 2nd quarter to widen the margin and despite losing the 4th quarter 43-25, they were never in any real danger of losing the game.
The big 3 of the Blazers came to play tonight as Cj McCollum led Portland in scoring with 26 points, Damian Lillard added 18 points with 9 assists, and Jusuf Nurkic had 14 points to go along with 9 rebounds. The Blazers bench had nice game as well, finishing with a combined 55 points.
With the win, Portland improves to 40-26 on the year and move into a tie with OKC for the 4th spot in the west. Both teams are just a half game back of Houston for the 3 seed. Up next, the Blazers travel to Staples Center to take on the Clippers Tuesday night.
