Payton Pritchard withdraws from NBA Draft to return to Oregon Ducks for senior year

Oregon Ducks point guard Payton Pritchard announced via his Instagram page Wednesday that he is returning to Oregon for his senior year. Matt Prehm of 24/7 sports reported it first earlier in the day.

Though expected, Pritchard’s return to the Ducks is much-needed and met with sighs of relief. Oregon has already witnessed the departures this off-season of Louis King and Kenny Wooten, compounded by the transfers of Miles Norris and Victor Bailey, Jr.
The Ducks are coming off an unforgettable post-season run in the 2018-19 season that saw them finish sixth in the Pac-12 regular season standings, win the Pac-12 Tournament and secure an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament where they scored an upset as a 12-seed over 5-seed Wisconsin followed by a win over 13-seed UC-Irvine before bowing out in the Sweet Sixteen to eventual National Champion Virginia.
