OSU Beavers guard Tariq Silver enters the transfer portal

Oregon State men’s basketball has announced junior guard Tariq Silver is leaving the program and entering the transfer portal.

Silver, a 6’5” 205-lb guard from Clarksville, Tenn., transferred to Oregon State after one season at Eastern Michigan in 2018-19.  Silver played in 23 games this past season for Oregon State, averaging 7.4 minutes and 1.6 points per game.  He did hit a couple big shots and had 4 points in Oregon State’s second-round upset of Oklahoma State to help the Beavers make a run to the Elite Eight.

“I would like to thank Coach Tinkle and the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity,” Silver said. “I also want to thank Beaver Nation for supporting me this past season. It was amazing to be a part of what we accomplished. With that being said, I have made the decision to enter the transfer portal.”

“Tariq’s a great young man and we appreciate all he did for us this past year,” Tinkle said. “We support his decision to find a school where he can have a major role and wish him all the best.”
