Oregon’s Chris Duarte, Sabrina Ionescu Named PAC-12 Players of The Week

 Chris Duarte was named Pac-12 player of the week for his stellar play in leading Oregon to a sweep of the L.A. schools.

Duarte had 30 points, 11 rebounds and a Matthew Knight Arena-record eight steals in Oregon’s 79-70 double-overtime win over USC Thursday, the first such stat line since 1999. He had 24 points, six rebounds and five assists in a rout of UCLA Sunday.

The junior guard shot 50 percent (17 of 34) from the field and 54 percent (7 of 13) from three-point range on the week and also averaged 2.5 assists and two blocks.

In women’s hoops, for the second time in as many weeks and third time this season, Sabrina Ionescu was named Pac-12 Player of the Week.

Ionescu scored 23 points and had nine assists in Oregon’s win over Oregon State Friday. She followed it up with 19 points and eight rebounds a win at OSU Sunday to complete the Ducks’ first season sweep in the series since 2010.
