Oregon State Women Destroy Florida State in NCAA Tournament First Round

Florida State clearly didn’t realize what they were getting into when they drew Oregon State last Monday. Oof.

The Beavers took the lead (20-19) early in the second quarter and never gave it back.

No. 8 OSU outscored 25-11 in the second frame and 20-12 in the fourth quarter, en route to an 83-59 victory.

Aleah Goodman did a little bit of everything for the Beavs with 24 points (on 8/12 shooting), five assists and five rebounds.

Taylor Jones helped out with 18 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, two steals and an assist. Meanwhile, Sasha Goforth added 14 points, a block and a steal too.

Overall, the Beavs shot just over 55 percent (32/58) overall and 46.7 percent from deep (7/15). On the flip side, No. 9 FSU only shot 22-of-62 (35.5 percent) overall.

Up next, the Beaver women will face the No. 1 seed in the Hemisfair Region, South Carolina, on Tuesday.
