Oregon State Toppled At Home By San Jose State, 24-13

The Oregon State Beavers dropped its fourth consecutive contest Saturday afternoon to San Jose State at Reser Stadium by a final score of 24-13.

The Beavers led 13-10 after an Everett Hayes 34-yard field goal with 9:47 remaining in the third quarter, but did not score after that. San Jose State scored 14 unanswered points in the final quarter to get the victory, highlighted by a 16-yard interception return for a touchdown by DJ Harvey off Beavs QB Ben Gulbranson that put the Spartans ahead.

Gulbranson, the fifth-year redshirt junior, got the start at quarterback in place of Gevani McCoy who started the first eight games of the season. Gulbranson finished 24-of-37 passing for 292 yards but threw two interceptions with no touchdowns.

San Jose State QB Walker Eget threw for 395 yards (11.3 yards/attempt) with a touchdown and a pick.

The game was scoreless at the end of the first quarter and tied 10-10 at halftime.

The Beavers were coming off their second and final bye week of the regular season. Their overall record drops to 4-5 after starting 4-1.
