Oregon State MBB Falls to Colorado, 61-57

The Beavs thumped Utah on Thursday, and then struggled against Colorado (17-7, 11-6 Pac-12) on Saturday.

Oregon State had a very early lead, but after tying the game at 16 just over midway through the first half they never tied the game again.

The Buffs took a 19-16 lead with 9:25 left in the opening 20 minutes. Now, the Beavs didn’t give up and got within one point (44-43) in the second half.

However, Colorado rattled off an 11-2 run putting Oregon State in a 55-45 hole with 4:19 to go. The Beavs outscored the Buffaloes 12-6 the rest of the game, but still fell short 61-57.

Ethan Thompson led Oregon State with 18 points, and Warith Alatishe was the only other Beaver in double figures with 12.

Unfortunately, OSU’s bench only scored seven points. In contrast, the Buffs bench scored 15.

Colorado had three double-digit scorers led by McKinley Wright IV’s 21 points.

The Beavs (11-11, 7-9 Pac-12) have now lost four of their last five games.

Oregon State’s game scheduled against Utah (9-10, 6-9 Pac-12) for Monday night was not postponed, just “rescheduled” to “the week of March 1”.

With the Utah game being moved, the next game for the Beaver men is set for 7 p.m. PT on Thursday night at Cal (8-17, 3-15 Pac-12) on the Pac-12 Networks.
