Oregon Ducks ranked No.1 in Preseason AP Poll for first time in program history
After their first run to the Women’s Final Four and returning a bevy of talent, the Oregon Ducks are placed atop the preseason AP Top-25, released Wednesday.
It is the first time in program history Oregon is ranked No.1 in the country.
The Ducks, who are led by returning senior and defending National Player of the Year Sabrina Ionescu, garnered 25 of the 28 possible first-place votes. Baylor, the defending national champions who ousted the Ducks in the national semifinals last year, earned the remaining three first-place votes, and are ranked No.2. Stanford is No.3, Maryland No.4, and UConn No.5.
The Oregon State Beavers check in at No.7 in the preseason poll. The full preseason poll is below!
Oregon opens the regular season on Nov. 11th against Northeastern. Other Pac-12 teams in the poll include No.11 UCLA, and No.20 Arizona State.
