Bouknight fills the position vacated by Michael Johnson, who spent two seasons in Eugene before taking the wide receivers coaching position at Mississippi State in the offseason.
Bouknight comes to Oregon from Lubbock where he was hired two months ago by new Red Raiders coach Matt Wells. Wells had Bouknight as an assistant at Utah State for the past ten seasons. Bouknight most recently was the Aggies outside wide receivers coach the last two years.
His name is pronounced Juh-VON BO-night, according to his Texas Tech bio page.
He was an outstanding collegiate receiver from his playing days at Wyoming, and was a semifinalist for the Bilitnikoff Award in 2005, the year Jesuit High school’s own Mike Hass won the award at Oregon State.
