No. 1 Oregon Ducks football stayed unbeaten with a 39-18 victory Saturday night over Maryland.

The Ducks improve to 10-0 on the season, joining the 2010 and 2012 teams as other Ducks squads to have reached that mark. The 2010 team played for the BCS National Championship.

“Nice to walk away with a victory,” head coach Dan Lanning said postgame. “That being said, I feel like we can play a whole lot better. I
think everyone probably saw moments of that.”

Oregon was penalized 12 times for 95 yards in the contest.

“Yeah, you know, it’s poor, poor, poor performance for us,” Lanning said of the penalties. “We got to go back and look at the
film and figure out how we can eliminate that.”

Quarterback Dillon Gabriel played admirably once again for Oregon, completing 23-of-34 passes for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns while rushing four times for 28 yards. His touchdown pass early in the second half to offensive lineman Gernorris Wilson gave Gabriel 179 total touchdowns in his career, breaking Case Keenum’s mark of 178 career touchdowns at Houston. Gabriel added touchdown No. 180 later in the game with another touchdown pass, his 22nd of the season.

“You can’t go through that game without recognizing having the all-time touchdown leader in the NCAA with Dillon Gabriel and what he was able to accomplish there,” Lanning said postgame. “He’ll be the first one to tell you he doesn’t care, but he should because that’s a really special moment for him. So I’m glad that we got to celebrate that tonight with him.”

The game secured a 10-win season for the fourth straight year and 15th time in program history for Oregon (all since 2000).

The Ducks will repeat as the nation’s No. 1 team in the second edition of the College Football Playoff rankings that come out Tuesday Nov. 12th. From there, Oregon heads to Madison, Wisc. to take on the Wisconsin Badgers (5-4, 3-3 Big Ten).

Oregon is a 14.5-pt road betting favorite.

The game will kick off at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, televised on NBC.
