Nick Saban Retires, Alabama Reportedly Targeting Dan Lanning To Replace Him

Nick Saban is retiring as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, it was announced Wednesday.

Moments later, a report from Brett McMurphy of the Action Network said Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning is expected to be the top target to replace Saban in Tuscaloosa.

Lanning just completed his second season as head coach of the Oregon Ducks, going 12-2 after a 10-3 mark in his first year in Eugene.

Lanning, a Missouri native, has repeatedly stated his desire to remain at Oregon as head coach, but the opening at Alabama will test that loyalty.
