Nick Madrigal Breaks Early Slump with Big Game in Win Sunday at KC Royals
Former Oregon State Beaver Nick Madrigal made his Major League debut on Friday and started 0-8 in his first two games, but Sunday was a different story.
Batting in the No. 9 hole in all three games, Madrigal went 0-3 on Friday, 0-5 on Saturday and erupted on Sunday to go 4-5. In fact, he started 4-4 before a ground out in the top of the ninth.
He picked up his first hit in the third inning. The former Beav scored his first run in the fifth. Then, he led off a 7-run seventh inning with a single. Madrigal scored his second run and picked up his first RBI in that big seventh inning.
