NCAA to Furlough Entire Indy-Based Staff for 3-8 Weeks

The NCAA will furlough about 600 Indianapolis-based employees for 3-8 weeks to save costs, according to a memo The Associated Press obtained on Wednesday.
NCAA President Mark Emmert’s memo reportedly states all national office employees will be subjected to a three week furlough, meanwhile others will be furloughed for eight weeks.
Unsurprisingly, the furloughs will not affect the senior executives. Emmert and execs previously took pay cuts ranging from 10-20 percent due to COVID-19.
Earlier this year, the NCAA cut its annual distribution to the D-I conferences and schools from $600 million to $225 million.
