Moreno’s Brace Lifts Timbers Past Dynamo, 2-1

The Portland Timbers earned three more points at Providence Park on Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo.

Santiago Moreno was the hero with a series of goals in the 34th minute (PK) and 36th minute. Portland went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

Houston responded with a goal in the 65th minute off the foot of Darwin Quintero.

Bill Tuiloma was handed his second yellow card in the 75th minute and the Timbers were forced to hold onto their 2-1 lead while playing a man short.

Portland moves to 2-0-1 since the international break and will look for another result as it travels to play Nashville on Sunday.
