Melo scores 16 against former team, Blazers beat Knicks 115-87
Carmelo Anthony scored 16 points on 5-for-13 shooting, including 3-for-4 from 3-pt range, and the Blazers beat the New York Knicks at Moda Center 115-87.
Portland snapped a two-game losing streak, improving to 10-15 overall on the season. They will face another one of Melo’s former teams on Thursday night when the visit the Denver Nuggets on TNT.
Damian Lillard led all scorers with 31 points, including 17 in the first quarter. Anfernee Simons added 16 points off the bench for the Blazers who improve to 5-6 at home this season.
The Knicks are 4-20 on the season, and 1-10 on the road.
Anthony is now 11 games into his Blazers career. He is averaging 15.9 points a game, shooting 40.6 % from the floor and 39.5 % from 3-pt range, while adding 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals a contest.
