Mariners Fall in New York, 7-3
It wasn’t the best pitching performance for Felix Hernandez tonight as he gave up three home runs in the first two innings of the game and Seattle fell down early 7-0. Seattle did hit two home runs to get back into it, but it wasn’t enough as they eventually fell 7-3. Hernandez went five full innings, giving up eight hits and six earned runs.
Domingo Santana(1-3) got Seattle on the board with a two run home run in the 4th inning, and Dee Gordon(3-4) followed that up with a solo home run of his own in the 5th. Seattle loaded the bases in the 5th and 6th innings and had a perfect opportunity to cut into the lead even more, but they were unable to capitalize.
Seattle now drops to 19-18 on the season, and up next they continue their four game series in the Bronx tomorrow at 3:30 pacific time.
