Marco Gonzales is spectacular, Mariners beat the Angels 2-1
The Mariners just keep on winning. They improve their record to 7-1 on the season with a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Starting pitcher Marco Gonzales was spectacular tonight, pitching 8 1/3 innings, allowing only 4 hits and 1 run. At one point he retired 17 straight batters. Gonzales is now 3-0 on starts this season. Seattle hit another home run which now means they have hit a home run in every game this season. Up next, they look to continue to surprise everyone when they start a 3-game series in Chicago, against the White Sox.
Match Highlights:
Los Angeles struck first in the top half of the 2nd with an RBI ground out by Kevan Smith. 1-0 Angles.
It took Seattle awhile, but they eventually tied the game at 1-1 on an RBI double by Mitch Haniger.
In the bottom of the 8th inning, Daniel Vogelbach hit his first home run of the year to give the Mariners a 2-1 lead.
Final call. Seattle wins 2-1.
