The rookie isn’t fazed by anything. In his sixth big-league plate appearance,  Kyle Lewis stepped to the plate in the seventh inning with his team trailing by two runs, and hitless. But with one swing of the bat, Lewis, changed the entire game as he launched a three run home run over the right field fence. It was the second home run in as many days for the first round draft pick.

Seattle tacked on two more runs in eighth inning for some cushion. Austin Nola scored Mallex Smith with a single and Kyle Seager smoked a double over the head of center fielder Brian O’Grady to score Nola from first base to make it 5-2.

The Reds got a run in the 9th inning and had the bases loaded with two outs. But Mariners pitcher Anthony Bass struck out Curt Casali and then got Joey Votto to ground out to end the game.

Starting pitcher Marco Gonzales went 7 innings, striking out 7 batters, and allowing only 2 runs.

Up next, Seattle looks to sweep their series with Cincinnati tomorrow night from T-Mobile Park.
