Yusei Kikuchi spun a gem for the Mariners. He gave up his first base hit after 5 1/3 innings of hitless ball. Kikuchi went 7 2/3 innings pitched overall. Seven of the nine Mariner batters picked up an RBI, and eight Mariner batters scored a run. The 10-1 win put Seattle back over .500 on the year at 20-19. Here’s how they got it done…

The Mariners wasted no time scoring in the game. Edwin Encarnacion brought Dee Gordon home on a sacrifice fly in the first inning, 1-0 M’s.

A quiet second inning led to Mitch Haniger leading off the third with a solo homer to left-center field to lead off the inning. 2-0 M’s

In the fourth, Ryon Healy and Dylan Moore hit back-to-back doubles, which scored Healy. 3-0 M’s.

Then, Gordon brought Moore home with an RBI single. 4-0 M’s in the fourth.

He got the scoring started in the game, and then in the fifth, Encarnacion blasted career home run No. 392 to left field. 5-0 M’s.

M’s starter Yusei Kikuchi gave up his first hit to New York to Mike Tauchman, who later scored the Yankees first run off a Luke Voit sacrifice fly. 5-1 M’s after six.

Healy played a little add-on in the top of the eighth with a two-run home run. 7-1 M’s.

Domingo Santana got in on the scoring as he doubled home Daniel Vogelbach. 8-1 M’s in the top of the ninth.

Catcher Omar Narvaez had a great game behind the plate working with Kikuchi, and then AT the plate in the ninth Narvaez brought in two runs on a single. 10-1 M’s.

The Yankee half of the ninth started with a base hit, but it ended with a double play. Mariners win 10-1.

It was a tough night for Jay Bruce. He was the only Mariner who didn’t score a run. On top of that, Bruce was one of two Mariners to not pick up an RBI, Vogelbach was the other.
