Justin Herbert Earns FedEx Air Player of the Week honors for Performance vs. NY Jets

LA Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert won the FedEx Air Player of the Week after a stellar performance in Week 11.

The former Oregon Duck threw for 366 yards (a career-high) and three touchdowns while completing 75.5 percent of his passes (37/49) against the Jets.

He tied the rookie record for most completions (37) in a game, set earlier this year by Joe Burrow.

Also, Herbert set the NFL rookie record for most games with three or more touchdown passes (5). Oh, and there are still six games on the Chargers schedule for him to increase the record.

Pro Football Focus spelled out what’s made Herbert so impressive this season.

Herbert got 86 percent of the votes for the FedEx Air Player of the Week. Deshaun Watson (eight percent) and Kirk Cousins (six percent) were the other two quarterbacks up for the award.
