Jim Rome is finally headed to the Radio Hall of Fame, one of eight personalities to be inducted on November 8th in New York City’s Gotham Hall, it was announced Monday.

Rome hosts “The Jim Rome Show” right here on The GAME weekday mornings 9am-Noon.  His show has been on the air since 1996, and just celebrated the 25th edition of the annual “Smack Off” this past June, which we hosted at the Bloodworks Live Studio.

Rome tweeted his appreciation of the moment earlier Monday while vacationing in Europe:

Other notable inductees to join Rome include Ryan Seacrest and John Tesh.  The full release from InsideRadio.com is below.  Congratulations, Jim!

The results are in for the class of 2019 Radio Hall of Fame inductees, who will be honored Nov. 8, in New York City’s landmark Gotham Hall. Four inductees were determined by a voting participant panel made up of nearly 1,000 industry professionals and four inductees were voted on by the RHOF Nominating Committee, two with input from the public.

The 2019 inductees are:

“Kevin and Bean” (Kevin Ryder, Gene “Bean” Baxter), morning hosts at Entercom’s KROQ-FM, Los Angeles (Active Local/Regional, 10+ years)

Calling their on-air performances and audience relationships “especially remarkable,” RHOF Chairman Kraig Kitchin said each of the 2019 nominees “are worthy of induction and I’m appreciative of all those who participated in our process of selecting our Class of 2019, who will join the 238 Radio Hall of Fame inductees already recognized for their great work.”

Four inductees were determined by a voting participant panel made up of nearly 1,000 industry professionals and four inductees were voted on by the RHOF Nominating Committee, two with input from the public. The outcome of the listener vote for a music format and spoken word format on-air personality counted as one vote among the committee votes. The process was administered by Votem and overseen by the accounting firm Miller Kaplan Arase.

Tickets to the induction ceremony are now available at www.radiohalloffame.com. A portion of ticket purchases is a tax-deductible charitable donation to the Museum of Broadcast Communications. The Mix Group is the presenting sponsor of the Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
