Jets hire former Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett as new OC

The New York Jets have hired Nathaniel Hackett as their next offensive coordinator; a move that is already fueling speculation about whether they will make a move for Aaron Rodgers.

Hackett, who replaces Mike LaFleur, served as the Green Bay Packers’ offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2021 and developed a solid working relationship with Rodgers, whose future in Green Bay appears uncertain. The Jets are expected to be in the market for a veteran quarterback after Zach Wilson struggled all season.

Hackett is coming off of a terrible season coaching the Denver Broncos. Despite adding star quarterback Russell Wilson, Hacket led Denver to a 4-11 record before being fired before the end of the season.

Prior to Denver and Green Bay, Hackett was the offensive coordinator for the Jaguars (2017-2018) and the Buffalo Bills (2013-2014).
