“It’s Not True”: Dame says he hasn’t requested a trade, but says roster isn’t championship-worthy
Damian Lillard spoke at Friday’s Team USA media availability, as heard live on 750 The GAME.
Lillard said the reports this morning that he plans to request a trade in the coming days are “not true.”
“I woke up to those reports, a lot of people reaching out to me. It’s not true. A lot of things are being said that hasn’t come from me.”
However, Lillard did say he hasn’t made a determination on what his future will be.
“I haven’t made any firm decision on what my future will be, so there’s really no need for anybody else to speak for me. I’ll speak directly with my team, and with Neil. So that’s that.”
“I choose not to discuss it openly.”
Lillard also commented on the team’s roster, saying he doesn’t believe it’s a championship-caliber squad.
“If you look at our team as it is, going into next season, I don’t see how you can say, alright, this is a championship team.”
More to come.
