Felix Hernandez got the start for the Mariners and gave up all three runs on five hits. This was the second straight no decision for Hernandez since missing more than three months with a lat strain.

Lance Lynn did not pitch any better for the Rangers, giving up three early runs in the second inning and striking out five over six innings of work.

The Mariners almost completed the elusive triple play in the home half of the fourth inning. Scott Heineman hit a ground ball to third with the bases loaded. Seager stepped on the bag, threw to Gordon at second, and the relay to first was just late. The play allowed the Rangers to tie the game at 3-3 heading into the fifth.

The scoring came to a halt until Seattle took the plate in the top half of the ninth inning. Dee Gordon got the rally started with a lead off single to right. Smith walked to put runners on first and second, before Crawford successfully moved the runners into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt.

Nola broke the tie with a sacrifice fly to center field. Finally, Omar Narvaez knocked in the insurance run with a single to shallow left.

Matt Magill closed it out in the bottom of the ninth to secure the victory.
