After five games of relative non-descript action, the Nationals and Astros provided a Game Six we will not soon forget.

The Nationals won the game 7-2, but not without controversy, as runner-interference was called against Washington’s Trea Turner in the top of the seventh inning on his sprint up the first base line.  It turned a possible throwing error for Houston into an out, but the Nats Anthony Rendon made sure it didn’t matter as he launched a game-altering two-run homer to make it 5-2 Washington.  Manager Dave Martinez was ejected between innings as he continued his arguments with the umpiring crew, making him the first manager to be ejected since Bobby Cox in the ’96 World Series.  Stephen Strasburg pitched 8-1/3 innings of two-run ball to guide the road team to victory, setting up a Game Seven.

This is the first time in the history of Major League Baseball, the NBA, or NHL, that the road team has won each of the first six games of a championship series.  The Nats hope that narrative continues in Game Seven tonight.

Max Scherzer will take the mound for Washington against Zack Grienke for Houston.
