Former OSU Beaver Star Nick Madrigal Headed to the Majors

Former Oregon State Beaver and 2018 National Champion Nick Madrigal is joining the Chicago White Sox, first reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Madrigal was drafted before attending OSU in the 17th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by Cleveland, but obviously went to college instead.

The decision to to play at Oregon State certainly paid off. Madrigal would end up getting picked No. 4 overall in the 2018 MLB Draft.

He was an All-Pac-12 Conference Team, an All-Pac-12 Defensive Team selection and an All-American in all three seasons at Oregon State. Madrigal also earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, and he was the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year his sophomore season.
