Former Blazers Big Man, LaMarcus Aldridge, Calls It A Career

LaMarcus Aldridge was a big part of the Blazers resurgence when he was drafted with the number two overall pick back in 2006. Aldridge announced his retirement on his Twitter account on Friday. This is the second time Aldridge has retired as he retired back in 2020-21 season after experiencing an irregular heartbeat. He then got medically cleared and returned to the Nets on a one year contract and played 47 games last season

Aldridge had a great career in Portland making 4 all star games in his nine seasons with the Trail Blazers. For his career he averaged 19.4 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game as a Blazer. Aldridge is the all time leading rebounder for the franchise, third in total points, and fifth in total games played. It was a great career for the man many called LA here in Portland
