It’s a great time to be a Beaver Believer.

ESPN college football reporter Pete Thamel tweeted Friday night that multiple sources tell him former five-star recruit and Clemson transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei is expected to choose Oregon State as his next destination.

Uiagalelei was reportedly down to Oregon State, Oregon, and Hawaii as his preferred landing spots after entering the transfer portal earlier this month.

The Beavers are coming off a 10-3 season, the third time in program history they have won double-digit games. They finished with a No. 14 ranking in the College Football Playoff and dominated Florida in the Vegas Bowl, 30-3.

Incumbent starter Ben Gulbranson went 7-1 as the starting quarterback down the stretch for Oregon State after Chance Nolan went down with a neck injury in the second conference game of the season.

Gulbranson returns, while Oregon State also added highly-touted four-star recruit Aidan Chiles, a longtime Beaver commit from Downey, Calif. who signed on Wednesday.

Now Uiagalelei is added to the quarterback mix, and Oregon State suddenly has an impressive group of talents at a position considered a weakness for much of the season.
