The newest member of Rip City, Enes Kanter, was on Comedy Central Tuesday night as a guest on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.”

Kanter talked about his excitement to come to Portland and play with the Blazers, citing the team’s current spot in the Western Conference standings and the recent win over Golden State as reason to be optimistic.

He also talked about his speaking out against his native Turkey and the oppressive regime of president Erdogan, his exit from the New York Knicks, and shared a great anecdote on how he learned to speak English.
