Saturday night started with celebration, but it ended with disappointment for the Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

The newest Seattle Mariner inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame, Edgar Martinez, was honored pregame. The M’s may be struggling on the field, but the organization knows how to celebrate its own.

Martinez was joined by Seattle Hall of Famers from multiple sports, including (former Seahawk) Steve Largent, Ken Griffey Jr. and Mr. Mariner himself, Alvin Davis.

The festivities were great, unfortunately, the game was not.

Former Mariner Mike Zunino hit a three-run home run as part of a four-run fifth inning for the visitors. Avisail Garcia smacked a home run in the sixth, which put the Rays up 5-3.

Later, Emilio Pagan, another former Mariner, picked up a second straight save against his former team. Pagan struck out the final two M’s to give Tampa Bay the 5-4 win.

The Mariners and Rays held each other scoreless after the sixth inning. The teams combined for two base runners and seven strikeouts in the final three frames.

Winning Pitcher, (13-4) Charlie Morton: 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 10 K, 0 BB

Losing Pitcher, (1-7) Tommy Milone: 4.0 IP, 5 ER, 0 K, 0 BB

Save (11), Emilio Pagan: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 2 K, 0 BB
