Dana Altman made it clear at the end of last season.

He needed new players.

Altman has lived up to his part as he has added numerous new players through the transfer portal. On Tuesday, Altman added combo guard Jesse Zarzuela from Central Michigan.

Last season Zarzuela averaged 16.3 ppg on 35% shooting on three point shots for a Central Michigan team that went 10-21 in the MAC conference. In the biggest win of the season. Central Michigan went on the road and beat Michigan 63-61 in Ann Arbor. And it was Zarzuela who led the game in scoring with 19 points in the game.

According to 247 Sports, Zarzuela was a 3-star recruit in the class of 2019 and the No. 458 player in the nation. He began his career at UTEP, where he redshirted.

He spent the 2019-20 season at Navarro College in Texas and then spent the 2020-21 season at Missouri State West Plains.

Then next season, he transferred to Coppin State and averaged 14.7 points per game.

Zarzuela becomes Oregon’s fourth transfer portal addition of the offseason.

Forward, Devan Cambridge from Arizona State, guard Kario Oquendo from Georgia, and guard/forward Jadrian Tracey from Florida Southwestern State have also joined the Ducks.
